On May 8, the WE Will team had the opportunity to attend the Livingston High School and Atwater High School EMR Triage Event, where students demonstrated exceptional skill, professionalism, and collaboration through a hands-on emergency response simulation.
Students enrolled in the EMR and Forensics pathways applied their classroom learning in a real-world setting by transporting, triaging, and assessing patients alongside local law enforcement, fire personnel, EMRs, and flight nurses. The event provided students with an authentic opportunity to strengthen critical thinking, communication, and emergency response skills in a high-pressure environment.
The level of teamwork, engagement, and professionalism displayed throughout the event was outstanding. Student volunteers contributed to the realism of the simulation through victim acting scenarios, further enhancing the learning experience for participants.
This event highlighted the value of career-connected learning opportunities and demonstrated the strong partnership between schools, community organizations, and industry professionals. Special recognition goes to the students, instructors, staff, volunteers, and community partners whose efforts made this impactful experience possible. The future of healthcare and emergency response continues to look promising through the dedication and talent of these students.
